Does the use of a steroid asthma inhaler have any effect on the Essure sterilization procedure? #1144/7

Does the use of a steroid asthma inhaler preclude a woman from having the Essure procedure? Or can I have this done, with the understanding that it could take longer than three months to prevent pregnancy? I take Advair 250/50 once per day during the winter, and twice per day during the other seasons.

Thank you for your time.

A part of the Essure protocol is for a hysterosalpingogram to be done several months after the operation to confirm that the fallopian tubes are occluded.

Condoms, birth control pills or another contraceptive should be used until success of the operation has been confirmed.

I am aware of no effects of the meds you are using on Essure effectiveness.  And certainly, use of other medications will make no difference once it has been confirmed that your tubes are occluded (blocked completely).

Key Words:    steroid asthma inhaler, Essure procedure, prevent pregnancy, hysterosalpingogram, confirm, fallopian tubes, occluded, condoms, contraceptives, effectiveness
