Okay, before I tell you my story I know that I was being stupid...but I need help concerning my issue.
Here goes...today is January 2nd and on October the12th I found out that I was pregnant. After talking about it with the father, we decided an abortion would be the best option. I had the procedure done November10th and became deeply depressed about it (I still regret it).
Shortly after I started LoEstrin birth control pills and having the procedure, my cycle became irregular. I was only given one pack of pills and never went back for more. The first day of my last period was December 8th. I had unprotected sex on the 13th and he actually ejaculated in me and I took Next Choice on the 15th. This happened again on the morning of the 17th and I took Plan B the night of the 19th. I know taking emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) twice within one cycle is bad, let alone in one week.
But my story continues...The early morning of the 22nd I had unprotected sex in which he "pulled out" twice in a row, which would have been during my fertile days. I am now extremely scared because this is how I got pregnant the 1st time. ISince then, I have had light spotting which I am hoping is from Plan B.
My symptoms include: heartburn, tender breast, cramping, gas, lower back pain and I have also developed a yeast infection. I’ve had these symptoms with no bleeding other than the spotting. I know they are the same as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), but I am scared. Could taking Plan B prior to the unprotected sex prevent me from being pregnant?

It is not harmful AT ALL to take Plan B twice in a month. It could be taken many more times than that in one cycle.
You did have sex on some days when fertilization and later on pregnancy could have happened.
A sensitive urine pregnancy test should be positive now if you are pregnant. Go ahead and do this today. It does you not good to be worrying all of the time. If negative, as it very well may be, then repeat it in 10 days. If positive, you again have a tough decision about a second abortion. Was the abortion on November 10th your first abortion? |
Please keep me posted and tell me later today how that pregnancy test came out.
Her reply on 1-4: “Thank you very much for not judging me and for replying promptly.”
“I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came out negative. Now I am just playing the waiting game. I think it was too early to take it, so I will proceed to take another one next week if my period still hasn’t started. I did have spotting after I took Plan B, but I am unsure if that means anything concerning pregnancy.”
By now, January 25th, a new pregnancy test would be positive if you are pregnant. Please let us know the results.
Email from RAH on 2-3: I cannot and would not try to remove your regret following that abortion, but over time you may find that it becomes less.
